Day Seven - Oh My Love

Today is the day of the Ecommerce shoot! I arrived at 10am and the model was already having her hair and makeup done ready for the day. I was asked to select all the shoes that we had decided that were going to be used for the day and tape all of the soles so that none of them marked the studio floor or the white backdrop that we were going to be using. We had a target of shooting 46 different looks for the day with 4 pictures of each look, a front, side, back and close up!

I need all theses sunglasses in my life!
I was in charge of marking off each outfit and numbering it on a list as we went and getting the model dressed- super important stuff! ;) I also helped pinning and clipping the clothes and assisted with some of the styling.

We shot all day, only stopping for 30 mins over lunch! It was a really long day but such a fun time! I really enjoyed helping out and getting to see what went on behind the scenes. The model had shot for Oh My Love before and was stunning!

We also shot outside against a brick wall in Hackney for a little bit but, typical England- it started to rain. Luckily for the model, who was frozen trying to pose for a SS15 look in a tiny strappy playsuit against a brick wall with no coat on in January! I had several layers on and was freezing!
Below are some of shots now on www.ohmylovelondon.com

I plan to post about each day of my internship so stay posted for more info! xoxox

Day Six - Oh My Love

Had another fun day today! I was asked to steam all the clothes that are going to be shot tomorrow. I had to steam and remove the tags from two rails full of clothes and then sort out the backdrops ready for the shoot and organise them. I also tidied the shoot room and got the accessories and shoes ready for the morning! I'm excited to be on the shoot and to see what goes on behind the scenes!

FINALLY THE WEEKEND!

I was literally so excited for this weekend haha! As much as I am loving my internship the getting up early and working 'til 6pm is really knocking it out of me! I decided to go and visit my boyfriend in Essex for the weekend as I don't get to see him that much and he's moving to Ibiza in April to start a job driving boats on the white isle! I plan to go out there and join him after I finish uni for the year in late May- SUPER EXCITED!

Day 5 - Oh My Love

On 5th Feb Oh My Love are planning on holding a pre fashion week '70's Disco' themed party! They want the party to mirror their new Spring Summer collection and are trying to recreate the vibe and setting from the glamorous late 70's club Studio 54. I made a mood board to help me generate some ideas and source items for the party!

I noticed that one of the main things people talked about from Studio 54 (apart from the rubber room.. I'll let you google that one haha!) was the neon lighting. There were different lighting themes in each room of the club. As we were trying to recreate this idea I got in contact with lots of different London based lighting companies to hire lighting for the night. Below is an image from one of the party lighting hiring companies in London that I contacted.

I'm super excited as I've been asked to help out on the night of the party and attend! Can't wait!

Day Four - Oh My Love

I understand I've missed a day out here, but my third day involved a lot of steaming clothes and was really just an extension of day two so I've skipped out writing about it haha!

Today I was asked to edit some pages in the Oh My Love Brand Bible booklet! It was super exciting seeing all the SS15 and AW15 clothes that have already been shot, theres some super cool stuff coming up!

I really didn't think they would be having me actually getting involved with the brand and I'd just be making coffee but I really feel like I'm learning a lot from my experience at Oh My Love, and I'm loving it so much!

Day Two - Oh My Love

On my second day Sally briefed me on a press party that Oh My Love would be holding on 4th February. The party will be held at Shoreditch House London and the guestlist included bloggers, celebrities, models and influential people within the industry such as the editors of Look, Elle and Grazia Magazine. I skimmed through the guestlist and was excited when I saw Cara Delevingne’s name! The party is in aid of promoting Oh My Love, and like the SS15 collection had a 70’s theme.
Photo taken at my desk!

Sally showed me some mood boards and emailed me some imagery that was used for inspiration for the party’s theme. She told me she wanted the party to emulate the theme of 70’s in the least tacky way possible and wanted it to have a Studio 54 feel to it.
She then asked me to source some items for the party and come up with a few ideas of some things that I thought might be cool to have at the party. She wanted me to look at a recent party ‘Charlie xcx’ had held and also one that the beauty brand ‘Glossier’ had held and take inspiration from the types of things that they had at their parties. I liked the idea of silver foil balloons spelling out ‘Oh My Love’. Sally wanted me to source; balloons, glitter, stickers for goody bags, heart shaped lolly pops and sweets etc. She told me there would be a Photo Booth at the party and that she wanted everything to be branded so when people instagramed images every image would have Oh My Love in the background, ie branded glasses, branded lolly pops and sweets etc. I came up with the idea of 70s themed photobooth props and tube lighting that could be hired that emulated the lights that were inside of Studio 54 the New York club from the 70’s.
I contacted tonnes of wholesalers and people that branded items. I also looked into branded cookies and sweets that could be made especially for the party and were within the party’s budget.

Day One - Oh My Love

I am so excited to have started a month long internship at Oh My Love London! When I went for my interview I knew this was the kind of place I wanted to be working so on my first day I was desperate to make a good first impression! The office space is really cool, with lots of neon lighting and house music blaring. They have their own in-house design room where they design and produce their own clothing, along with their own photography studio set up ready with studio lighting and filled with shoes and accessories!

I was asked to do lots of brand analysis' and have a look at the Oh My Love Instagram. I then decided to make several mock up graphics that I thought would boost Instagram followers and likes!

I created this graphic using imagery from the Oh My Love website and  a photograph I took from inside of the office as well and added silver stars and some graphic squares in the background!

Oh My Love also are preparing their Spring Summer 2015 Collection and were at the final stages of creating a lookbook depicting the themes and images from the photoshoot from the spring summer collection.
Sally asked me to look through the photographs from the SS15 collection and produce a short three paragraph introduction for the lookbook on what the collection reflected and where the inspiration came from.
Here is what I produced for it
Oh My Love SS15
For Spring/Summer 15, Oh My Love London’s in-house design team have been
devoted to creating the most unique and playful collection yet. Channelling 70’s
cool vibes and inspired by the likes of Bianca Jagger it’s a collection ready for an
unforgettable summer.
With pretty in pink flamingo print bomber jackets, vibrant floral 70’s inspired
printed playsuits and intricately embellished sequined halters; it’s a diverse
collection. From flared silk trousers, to plunging neckline bodysuits the
collection radiates an Ibiza cool vibe screaming for the girls who just want to
have fun.
The Oh My Love Spring/ Summer 15 collection will be available from ______ at
ohmylovelondon.com and at selected retailers including Topshop, Nasty Gal and
ASOS.

I can't wait for the lookbook to go to print to see if they use my introduction in it!  I was then asked to go through the final images and select them online and move them to a separate folder in the shared space and rename them for the pages they were going to feature on.
I finished at 6.15pm and was absolutely exhausted, but really enjoyed my first day! I commute in from Luton so I had an hour and a half journey to get home but I’m finding it really exciting! I’m also glad that they haven’t just got me making coffee and running errands!
